Only a few Baltimore wedding photographers get to visit as many venues as I do. Because so many of my couples have different tastes and visions for their big day, I have photographed various wedding venues in Baltimore. And although some of the venues I am sharing today aren’t technically in Baltimore, they are worth mentioning!

Hotel Revival

Urban weddings are totally in. Above all, in Mt. Vernon, Baltimore, MD, stands one of my all time favorite urban venues! The Hotel Revival is ideal for a small-scale wedding, or for getting ready photos and bridals. It’s located in downtown Baltimore, about 18 minutes from the BWI airport, making it a great choice of venue if you’re planning on faraway friends or family arriving for your wedding. This location also allows for other Baltimore sightseeing; the Peabody Library, Baltimore Museum of Art, Washington Monument, and so much more!

In addition, Hotel Revival is home to three separate event spaces. Each suited for intimate marriages of less than 100 guests. The rooms have natural light, AV equipment, and 8-foot ceilings. An event team is part of your booking, which is great for planning and the day of!

Topside, the Hotel Revival’s bar/restaurant, can be contacted for catering large parties. Of course, the Hotel also has over one hundred rooms to reserve, so treat your guests and skip the extra commute!

Peabody Baltimore Library

I am not kidding when I tell you that this one of the most dreamy wedding venues in Baltimore I have ever stepped foot in. Nestled in downtown Baltimore is the Peabody Library. Standing proud in the Arts District of Baltimore, MD, right next to Mt. Vernon since 1878. It is one of the most jaw-dropping libraries in the U.S., with five (yes, FIVE!) tiers of gorgeous book balconies stretching toward the skylight at the top of the building. One these shelves contains a collection of over 300,000 books, most dating ot the 1800s.

The design of this historic building will add so much beauty and character to your wedding day. Firstly, the floor is making a statement. The geometric, black and white tiles feel high-class. It is a timeless look that adds a lot to the space, without distracting from the many other features. Meanwhile, the architecture here is incredibly ornate. Everywhere your eye looks, there is a new detail to enjoy. The columns are all inlaid with gold leaf. The metalwork on the balconies is so intricate. There are sconces like, every two feet. Overall, it’s romantic and graceful.

So if a Peabody Library wedding seems enticing, here are some details you’ll need to know. You’ll have the Reading Room for the ceremony and reception, while the Exhibit Gallery is used for cocktail hour—during which all your guests can enjoy the exhibit on display! Seated capacity is 170, 150 if you’re bringing a band.  There are four full service caterers to pick from, and they’ll provide food, drinks, linens, etc. (and weddings can only be booked with catered receptions). The Library will provide a venue manager and security for the event.

There are a lot of rules to follow at this venue because they are concerned with the preservation of their collections, but the website is very user-friendly and includes a lot of details to help you out. And the rules are not super restricting, so you can still have a beautiful and enjoyable wedding!

Springfield Manor

Springfield Manor is a wedding venue that’s quintessentially Maryland! Travel about an hour west of Baltimore, a little beyond Frederick, and you will find this inviting manor. It’s a gorgeous mansion surrounded by rich lavender fields, and the ceremony site faces the rolling mountains. Tall trees shade a green lawn out front–the fallen leaves look perfect in autumn. Absolutely stunning, but wait until you see the inside!

Inside, Springfield Manor accents its historic architecture with wrought iron sconces, beautifully decorated fireplaces, and gilded mirrors. It’s not over the top, just a subtle elegance that adds so much to your wedding photos. The Baltimore wedding venue can host up to 300 guests in their ballroom and barn. The venue has both indoor and outdoor options to suit your preferences. In addition, round or rectangular tables and your choice of linens and table cloths are available for the reception, and the Springfield Winery Distillery Brewery is happy to provide signature drinks! Catering is provided by Great American Catering. This venue really does a lot of the leg work when it comes to planning a reception.

Cloisters Castle

Cloisters Castle is a whimsical and historic venue. Located a short 17 minutes from central Baltimore, this pseudo-Gothic manor house sits on a hill surrounded by acres of woodland. The venue itself is a representation of a creative dream. The original owners carefully designed the manor in 1932 as a passion project with collected antiques. As a result the manor features colorful stained glass, medieval carved panel work, and chestnut beaming. Surely, gorgeous is an understatement.

Your rental fee includes 10 hours of full access to this awe-inspiring venue and the grounds, including the spiral stair tower, the library, and the terrace. In addition, catering must be chosen from The Cloisters’ list of vendors. The venue provides tables and chairs, which is so helpful when planning a wedding. Note that rental price varies by date and season.

The Belvedere

The Belvedere wedding venue in Baltimore is full of elegance and character. Recently, my work as a Baltimore wedding photographer treated me to this beautiful venue, and I am so thrilled to go back!

With an impressive history, you will love the character and story this venue tells, as it is such an icon of old Baltimore. Nestled in the heart of downtown Baltimore, the building hosted many U.S. presidents when it operated as a hotel! Originally built in 1903, this venue showcases marble floors and columns, gold accent work, decorative moldings, and Art Nouveau detailing. To sum up, you feel almost royal as you walk through the murals and sculptures that uniquely adorn each room. In addition, the carved stone and gold awning gives just another stunning backdrop for wedding photos.

A reservation with the Belvedere ensures you’ll get the best of care. A custom-set floor plan, a three-course tasting for two, and guidance and coordination from planning to the event. A wedding at the Belvedere includes a ceremony, cocktail hour, and a three-hour reception. As well, couples are offered a parlor space for getting ready. The day-of event includes glassware, china, and your choice of black or ivory table linens, as well as bar and catering staff. This is one of the Baltimore wedding venues that really does it all!

Patapsco Valley State Park

Calling all-natural brides! A Patapsco Valley State Park wedding may be calling your name. This location is known for its clear river, waterfalls, and lush foliage that changes with each season. It’s located just minutes from downtown Baltimore and the BWI airport. As a venue, Patapsco Valley State Park amenities differ per each specific site within the park, called shelters. A shelter can hold anywhere from 10 to 200 guests, so it is recommended to call the park to make sure you’re getting what you need as far as space goes. Most shelters offer electricity, grills and picnic tables, and some have a fireplace. Most have bathroom facilities nearby as well.

The Main Street Ballroom venue in historic Ellicott City is the perfect place for a wedding if you’re looking for those small-town, cozy vibes. Just a few miles from downtown Baltimore and across the way from the waters of the Patapsco River, Main Street Ballroom has a personality all its own. Highlight features include exposed red brick, rubble masonry stone work, industrial furniture, and bistro lighting.

This venue is all on one level, which makes it a great all-in-one choice for the cocktail hour, ceremony, and the reception! When booking, couples have a variety of options for the ceremony room. Barn doors, stone walls, board and batten walls, or the outdoor patio are all available for an enchanting ambience. As well, Main Street Ballroom boasts their 16 hour reservation window, which gives wedding parties access from 8am to midnight. Haven Street Ballroom Wedding

Located on the far east side of Baltimore, in Baltimore Highlands. The venue is 21 minutes away from the airport. It’s a good, centralized location, and if you want to do your ceremony elsewhere, the drive isn’t going to be a problem. A perk of this venue is they have a lot of parking, so transportation is easier on your guests.

The Ballroom can host up to 240 guests, but that includes vendors. Amenities offered include tables/chairs for 120 guests, as well as a bridal suite with makeup stations. You’ll also get use of the front patio for cocktail hour. All insured vendors are welcome here.

But the number one amenity offered here at Haven Street Ballroom is one every couple loves: time. Your rental here lasts for 16 hours, from 8am to midnight. You have time for every moment of your big day, from morning makeup and preparation down to your pizazz-y exit from the reception.
