Many of my couples spend well over a year planning their wedding day, and in a way that makes it easier. When you start planning so far from your wedding date you are able to et on your preferred vendors schedules, spread out the cost of a wedding, and really take time to ponder over the details. However, sometimes love can’t wait! So if you are looking to plan your Baltimore wedding in about six months, this is the blog for you.
This will be a tight timeline so that you can be married as soon as possible without compromising your wedding style. Many of your “to-dos” will be at least six months before. But remember that many of these items are as simple as booking a reservation through a call.
When you plan your Baltimore wedding in six months, set your datem first! Keep in mind that often your wedding date revolves around when your venue has openings. When first contacting your venue, consider when you want to get married, then ask for their available dates.
Once your date is set and reserved with your venue, contact all of your preferred vendors. I suggest contacting your wedding photographer first, as other vendors, like florists, can book multiple clients for one day. Meanwhile, photographers can only shoot one wedding a day. Making our schedules a bit harder to get into.
Another wedding vendor that seems to get booked rather quickly is officiants. You can choose an officiant you have seen at your friend’s weddings or someone you know who is ordained. Most venues have a list of officiants they have worked with and love. Either way, connect with your officiant and book them early!
Finding the right dress for you may take some time. Start the search as early as you can! Brides rarely find exactly what they want at the first bridal boutique they visit. In addition, you will more than likely need to order your size and have alterations made.
As you plan your Baltimore wedding in six months, prioritize your vendors. With that said, if any of the following vendors provide services that are important to you, then book them sooner than four months prior.
wedding planner
florist
hair & makeup
cake
catering
entertainment
Rentals
At this point, the time will fly! Get with your wedding planner to solidify your wedding day timeline. Then reach out to each of your vendors with this timeline and any last-minute changes or ideas you have. As a Baltimore wedding photographer, I love getting a look at your timeline so that I can come prepared to capture every moment!
Around this time, you will also want to look into the details of getting your marriage license in Maryland. Make plans to get this before your wedding day!
The last step is to tie the knot! When you decide to plan your Baltimore wedding in six months, you will be getting married before you know it. Need to book your wedding photographer? Drop me a line, and let’s do this thing.
