Sometimes the people you need most are just around the corner, and that was certainly the case for Emily and Bill! They first met during the COVID lockdown, so they had to find their own path to each other—and it culminated with these beautiful Washington DC engagement photos. As a Baltimore wedding photographer, I loved this colorful shoot around the city.
Emily and Bill’s first date was a walk from Logan Circle to Blagden Alley, so for their engagements, we retraced their steps (just backwards)! As we walked through the city, it was so fun to see this couple reminisce about their journey. And now, we got adorable, lovey poses with an engagement ring and a puppy! Isn’t it fun to see how one decision–like a stroll around DC–can totally change the course of your life?
Emily is an architect, so it’s important to her that we showcase the decorative buildings in this area during the shoot. Of course, Washington DC is rich with historical architecture, showcasing beautiful columns, brick facade, and classical windows. Luckily, we were able to stop and get some great pictures with a few feature buildings.
As a photographer, it’s refreshing to get so many diverse backdrops on this short walk. On this trip, I especially liked the details calling in “old world” charm, like red brick, climbing ivy, and aged wood. Like, check out this beautiful brick arch and door! These details suited Emily and Bill’s romantic walk down memory lane just perfectly.
But if vintage isn’t really your style, we can explore some of the eye-catching murals and urban chic parts of the city. Washington DC engagement photos are flexible enough for every style, so we’re sure to find a spot to match your expectations.
Congratulations, Emily and Bill, on your new chapter together! And thanks for inviting me along for the ride.
