There are a lot of things I like about weddings. The sentiment, the music, the food, and of course the photography. But what truly makes my creative heart sing is a well executed wedding theme! I’ve had the absolute joy of photographing everything from romantic Valentine’s Day vibes to spooky chic Halloween celebrations. So when Kaitlin and Corey shared that they were planning a Great Gatsby inspired New Year’s Eve wedding? I was instantly obsessed. And what better place than The Milton Inn?!
Tucked into the rolling countryside of Sparks, Maryland, is The Milton Inn. This gem is steeped in history and full of storybook charm. In addition to its old world charm, this restored 285 year old fieldstone estate feels like a cozy French hunting lodge, effortlessly blending old world elegance with modern comfort. Perfect for a Great Gatsby wedding!
With roots going all the way back to 1740, The Milton Inn has worn many hats over the years. From a Quaker coach stop to a schoolhouse once attended by John Wilkes Booth. However, today The Milton Inn is writing a brand new chapter as a private dining and wedding venue. The menus are deeply inspired by French tradition and shaped by the rich, seasonal ingredients of the Mid Atlantic.
The Milton Inn offers a variety of beautifully curated spaces for private events. Whether you’re planning a wedding, cocktail hour, or rehearsal dinner. Each space has its own unique charm, but all share the same top tier catering and exceptional service that make for a truly seamless experience. From intimate gatherings to grand celebrations, The Milton Inn has the perfect setting to bring your vision to life.
Speaking of bringing visions to life, that is exactly what The Milton Inn was able to do for Kaitlin and Corey’s wedding day! The vibes were super moody, art decor and sophisticated. I love how they added details that nodded to their Great Gatsby wedding theme, without making it feel cliche.
Something that really brought the theme together was actually the guests. So many people showed up in roaring 20s styles that felt authentic and natural for the setting. I’m talking gloves, beaded gowns, sequenced dresses, colored suits, fur coats, all the drama! It all played a part in making their wedding day really special, and honestly a gave a sense of community. Everyone truly came together to make this day one of a kind for Kaitlin and Corey.
I am always beyond honored to be chosen as your Baltimore wedding photographer. No matter your theme, venue or story, I will do all that I can to honor you through your wedding photos.
