If your dog loves the water, consider a beach or lake session for a dreamy, romantic vibe. This can also be made into a really fun session with your dog splashing through the water with you!

Your outfit choices should complement your style while ensuring comfort! You will want to have a few looks to change into for our maternity session together, so here are some tips:
Maxi Dresses
One of my favorites to recommend! Maxi dresses or form-fitting maternity gowns that highlight your bump photograph beautifully and allow for ease of movement. I personally love the comfortable and carefree look of a flowy gown, but a formfitting dress really shows off all your hard work!
Coordinate Colors
Choose colors that work well with your dog’s fur to create a harmonious look. Neutral tones, pastels, or soft patterns often work well.
Accessorize Your Dog
A cute bandana, bow tie, or even a sign announcing the baby’s arrival can add a fun and adorable touch.

Poses
I always recommend using natural and authentic poses when capturing maternity photos with dogs. Consider walking on a path together or cuddling up on a blanket. If your pup is well trained we can do even more! With your dog sitting in the forefront of the picture as you are in the distance together. Or holding a treat for your dog right next to your belly so it looks like they are kissing their new sibling. No matter how well your dog understand commands, we will find the perfect pose for you!
Tips For Maternity Photos With Dogs
As a Baltimore photographer, I want your maternity session goes as smoothly as possible! And with a pup tagging along preparation is key! Bringing treats and toys can help keep your dog engaged and focused during the shoot, making for a more enjoyable experience for everyone. In addition, having a friend or partner assist can also be beneficial, providing an extra set of hands to manage your dog in between shots. Also consider giving your dog some exercise before the shoot. This can help burn off excess energy and make them more cooperative. These are all little things that can make a big difference!
