The journey of wedding planning begins the moment you’re engaged, but where to start? The first thing on the list should be your official engagement photos. As a Baltimore photographer, I have a lot of favorite engagement photo locations. These spots can be real diamonds so let me share them with you.
Rawlings Conservatory is the first on the list. This lush greenhouse includes rows and rows of bright open windows and unique stone and brick work. The tropical plants can be a pleasant escape, especially for winter engagements. Check it out with these pictures of Hilary and Angel.
Woodberry is another historic town, with many buildings dating back to the turn of the 19th century. Rustic masonry, colonial windows, and tall trees give this city character. There are parks and walking trails here too. Woodberry is on the quieter side so if you’re worried about people, it’ll be a strong choice for engagement photo locations.
If you’re looking for more old world charm, look no further than Fells Point. There’s a couple of unique features to this location. First, there’s tons of color here—bright murals abound. The second is the beautiful waterfront, which we happily captured with Liz and Chris at sunset.
Federal Hill is full of life and history, and would be a great option for your engagement photo locations. The aged architecture is full of personality, but taking photos on the street still manages to seem quaint and small-town. Federal Hill also has some waterfront views with a gorgeous city skyline.
Patapsco Valley State Park is the only choice if you’re hoping for a natural engagement photo location. The park is diverse, but you can expect enchanting, thick woods accompanied by the rushing Patapsco River. Don’t shy away from this location in colder weather; we headed out with Alyssa and Jake in late autumn and left with these breathtaking shots.
Cylburn Arboretum cultivates the most beautiful foliage and wildlife, but there is really something for everyone here. The grounds include romantic pathways through tended gardens. You’ll also find lawns, statues, and a very photogenic mansion. There’s a reason this spot is so popular with Baltimore wedding photographers.
