You deserve your wedding to be everything you have dreamed of and more. With that, you need to be surrounded by your favorite people! As a Baltimore wedding photographer I have seen the difference guests make at a wedding. You really want to be sure you are inviting the right people! Whether you are having a large gathering or a simple and intimate ceremony, here are my tips for how to form a wedding guest list!
First, you need to determine who is on your VIP list. These are the people who know you best and are more than likely already in the wedding party. Often times this is your immediate family and closest friends. In addition, your VIP list may be family or friends that aren’t in the wedding party but will definitely be in the front row of your ceremony and won’t want to miss a thing!
After deciding who will be on your VIP list, gather the names of your immediate family and your favorite extended family members. You do not need to invite every member of your families, but having those who you are the closest with will make your day that much more special. So in addition to your immediate family, consider inviting your favorite cousins and grandparents!
Lastly, consider all of your friends and acquaintances. For a more intimate wedding only invite your current closest friends. Theses are the people who mean the most to you and that you interact with often. However, if you are planning a large wedding then opt to invite all of your friends, co-workers and extended family.
Most importantly throughout wedding planning, don’t feel bad for not being able to invite everyone you know. It takes a lot of effort to get married and plan a wedding, so it should be spent with the people who mean the most to you – not those that when you look back may forget they were even present!
